Only the card as far as I'm aware!

Any tools you may need, some water just incase for your cooling system, some spare oil, yourself, helmet, long sleeved top, maybe a plastic sheet or tarpaulin to cover your stuff should you need it! That will probably do you!

Oh and looking forward to seeing your new helmet then Jezzer!

Looking forward to this. Fitted my new endurance racing pads yesterday, awesome stopping power!! This will be their first proper outing

Last year l felt in some quite important points where left out in the llandow briefing.

Firstly remember to do a few cool down laps before coming off the track. Now the first part of the day will be run in 15 min sessions so this isnt really possible. So myself l will just come off the track and drive down the public road and back to allow things to cool properly. Mainly to allow the brakes to cool. Even with the brakes off the pads will still be touching the discs slightly when stopped. Let them cool.

Others reasons are the engine block will be HOT! Turn engine your off and the coolant can start to boil without it being pumped around the block and cooled by the rad. Although this can be stopped by just leaving the engine running once off the track. Although cool down laps/drive is the best way. Depends how much your care about your car.


Next tip will sound obvious but ive seen it happen. For example...

Im in my mr2 turbo with stu behind in his n/a mr2 and im holding him up through the corners. Its no good me pulling over to let him past on the strait if l then plant the throttle. So if you are letting someone pass give a good lift of the throttle so they can pass safely and in good time for the next braking point/corner. Keeps everyone safe, happy and our cars out the wall.

Good tips though Ad... another worth mentioning with Llandow is wathc your tyres! Eveny time you come in have a look around all four. Any wearing to quickly are worth swapping over for one that aren't wearing.

lol im going to edit my original post and change it to rich. But then he will probably already be in the wall.

I'm sure its common knowledge to the turbo guys but just thought I would add;

Make sure the car is up to temperature before going out, oil and turbo need to be nicely warmed up before giving them abuse to avoid undue damage (especially if you are running higher boost than standard)

Also make sure you let it "warm-down" before turning the engine off. Let it sit for a bit or drive gently down the surounding roads so that the turbo can cool down gently and so the oil keeps flowing through it and doesnt sit in a very, very hot turbo.

I gotta tubby so if I see anyone not looking after there car I shall be giving them a right spanking!!!! Lol xx

Rich hasnt told anyone yet but he just fitted a turbo to his mr2 and he is going to abuse it...

last time i went for a passanger ride in the rain at llandow, nearly ended up on the roof after spining onto the grass

well after spending the weekend at the garage messing about with her and getting her ready for Llandow, she decided to have a spectacular headgasket blow up on the way home, my own fault really for using a crappy BGA gasket on an engine like this.

no need to fear, providing she doesnt put up a fight she will be ready and running for tomorrow, new head set arrived at lunchtime

this car causes me nothing but aggro so expect me to be in my standard valver lol

The head seems to be missing!!

Oh bugger not the best of starts then. Hope you get it finished should be alright though.

cheers buddy, im not too fussed if its not ready as if its raining il struggle to put the power down anyway, and plus my standard valver is actually awesome at llandow, so much fun lol

Ill drive sams but ill do it in the open pit if i cant in the novice session.

Just got in, wheels are now balanced, just need to keep checking the bolts are holding them on.....

Cakes are iced and hammered and now to sort the tools, camera, change of clothes, helmet etc then I can get changed out of my work clothes, shower and get some food before dinner.

About 12 hours till I will be getting up to leave

Guys its worth mentioning that the traffic heading into and past Cardiff is a nightmere at the moment because of the road works so to be safe give yourself 15-20 minutes extra when you leave.

Guys, I won't be able to make this I'm still in the office as it is and haven't prepared at all. I can't afford the time off during the weekdays at the moment. You guys know how much of a track fiend I've become so having to miss this wasn't a light decision but business is business unfortunately.

Hopefully there'll be a trackday or two between this and Anglesey (and make it a weekend please! ). I need a fix between Goodwood next month and Anglesey and possibly 2 days at Spa in November!

It's now in the car, along with Gunge's airbox to TB pipe, a wing and a bumper grille lol
