Built4Track Tow Car - 2002 Citroen Berlingo Van

I'll keep this thread updated on the progress of our little tow van...

Bought June 2008 looking like this...





Poor little thing 147k on the clock, 1.9 N/A Diesel, but with a FSH!!!

Spent a few hours cleaning, scrubbing the sticky mess off, new wing, rear bumper and rear light, and dropped it down on 15inch 306 alloys, now he looks like...





Plans?

• Finish Mounting the two amps, the single 12inch sub and the infinity components
  
• The all imporant tow bar
  
• Get it properly Decaled up in Built4Track stickers
  
• Find a trailer to match!

You say that it is intended for trailering the Honda?

Is it going to be strong enough, does it meet the required weight regs?

I can't remember them off the top of me head, a little research is needed me thinks.

Its something like, trailer and vehicle upon combined must not weigh more than towing vehicle.. I think.

Exactly that... but for unbraked trailors

City will only weight 600kg by the time i'm done with it anyhoo

The van looks good, how difficult was it to sort the wing out?

Bunji's right about the trailer bit. You might have to look at getting your b+e license aswell to see if you can tow the weights involved.

They take into account the maximum authorised mass (MAM) of the tow vehicle and trailer combo and not the actual weights of your van or the things your towing.

You dont want a trailer, you want my A-frame im selling lol

Wing was a pain in the arse... Citroen Rivet them the the bumper before they fit them...

I have to take my towing licence (passed after 2005 therefore not allowed to tow anything) but thats only £40

I'd have the a-frame mate but the car needs to be taxed to tow like that...

norledge, i think perhaps you should turn the van into a track van, or pimp it

This van is now residing in our breaker yard..... the vans dead.
