Hi all,
Sorry, but I haven't got a 106. Thought I'd best get that out of the way:)
I've been into my trackdays for a few years now having started out in a 205mi16 and now bought myself an mx5 for some rear wheel drive laughs. Plus having no steel above your head makes it feel like your going faster than you are.
It hasn't really gone to plan so far after the mazda's engine turned itself inside out about a year and a half ago. Since then I've been struggling to get it running reliably so my diesel Rover 200 has been taking the auto solo and trackday abuse. It's not that I'm lazy, I worked abroad most of last year so didn't have a lot of tinkering time.
I'm hopefully trying to fit in a few trackdays this year with Abingdon, Anglesey and Colerne on the list. I'm also running in the CMSGCC Auto Solo Championship.
Hopefully I'll see a few of you at one of the track events this summer.
Dean

You dont have a 106! Get out now! lol
Only joking. Shame about the mx5 not running for so long. Im currently going through the broken car stage, but that was my fault.
Get some pics of the Rover and Mx5 up. Also if you have any of your track days or racing those would be good to see.

Cheers for the welcome, I'll get some pictures added when I can. None of my cars look that special though, I'm not really into form before function.
In the meantime I found this video of me in the Rover at PPC (I'm driving the white Rover 200 aka "The Cloud" in the last 30 seconds or so). It's a 105 bhp diesel with stock everything and tyres bought for £5 a corner at the local scrapyard. More "built for shopping" that "built for track".
Enjoy
P.S. I've bought a second hand engine for the Mazda but had problems getting the turbo to stay attached to the engine. I think (fingers crossed) it's fixed now. I heard of B4T through a friend who knows someone on here called Stuart (sp?).

I really enjoyed Mallory, Gerrards and the hairpin at the top were quite hard to get right. I struggled to commit enough speed entering Gerrards and found myself wanting to accelerate again before I'd passed the apex.
I was amazed there were no crashes at PPC this year; I've never done a trackday before where I was being overtaken on the left and right at the same time! No-one seemed to be taking any stupid risks though so it was all good.

I love gerrards, one of the memorable corners I think I've done. as if you get it wrong or enter with too much speed lift off and catch the back...the hairpin I hated though it's very tight for a FWD car.
lmao yeah was like that the year before aswell at PPC
