Oil Advice & Recommendations Here! Empty
PostSubject: Oil Advice & Recommendations Here!   Oil Advice & Recommendations Here! EmptySat Jun 05, 2010 1:18 am

if you would like any oil advice or a recommendation for your car please feel free to ask here and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

To help us to give the most accurate advice possible we do need some information about your car. e.g.
Make:
Model:
Year:
Engine type:
Performance modifications:
Driving style: (road / off-road / track etc)
Any other information that may be relevant: e.g. approx BHP if modified, oil temps if known
What recommendation are you looking for? Engine, Gearbox, Diff etc.

Any oil we recommend is available to buy from us (if you would like to) for delivery throughout the UK and many destinations in Europe. We stock oils & lubricants from 9 major oil brands: Amsoil, Castrol, Fuchs, Gulf, Millers, Mobil, Motul, Redline and Silkolene, so we can supply fluids meeting the vast majority of manufacturer and international specifications.

Built4Track members get a discount of at least 10% on our usual prices... just choose "Built4Track" as your club when registering on the Opie Oils web site and enter your forum username.

Finally, if there are any products we don't stock and you have difficulty getting hold of elsewhere, let us know and we'll see if we can stock them.

We look forward to being of help!

Cheers

Hmm, 0w-20. Not many of those around, didnt know Castrol did one? They are odd and wont sell me anything larger then a 4/5ltr tub.

Will something like this do? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-875-motul-8100-eco-lite-0w-20-gasoline-engine-oil-100-synthetic-ester-based.aspx Might be able to get that in bigger sizes.

Hi

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic and you will find those through the link below.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Silkolene Pro S, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Gulf Formula G, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Synt S are good, cheaper alternatives.

As a budget choice, a 10w-40 will be fine and I would either go for the Fuchs XTR or Motul 6100

Cheers

Hopefully not

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-782-10w-40.aspx

The best oils there are the Silkolene Pro 4 and Comp 4, Motul 300v, Redline, Amsoil and Castrol Power 1 Racing. Go for one of those for track use.

In the diff, Silkolene Syn 5 of BOA90LS are ideal

A 10w-50 is ideal for your engine and these are the ones that we stock.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

Both are really good oils, absolute top of the range ones, so go with any brand preference you have.

You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff and here are the ones we have.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx

If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Motul Gear 300, Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 and Millers TRX. The Castrol Syntrax, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Silkolene Syn 5 is a good choice for the diff.

Cheers
