| Cheap as chips and very under-rated, but apparently they're not cheap to fix when they break, and when they do break they go spectacularly. http://www.celica-club.co.uk/have a gander on there, I considered them when I was looking for the Teg as I was struggling to find a good one. | |

| All l know is that they share the same engine/gearbox as the mr2 although the GT4 has a charge cooler rather than an intercooler as standard. | |

| Oh and because of the 4wd system the GT4 gets an oil cooler for the gearbox where as the mr2 gets a u-bend pipe back into the gearbox lol. | |

I saw one of the oil coolers fitted to an mr2 on PH the other day you need one because it looks cool... Love the GT4's in that shape | |

| If you do come to buy one engine service history is everything. If you can try and buy one thats only ever run standard boost and certainly no more than 1.2 bar on standard internals. 0.9 bar is standard. (on Rev3+ MR2s anyway)
Speaking of years when did toyota start making the GT4's?
With MR2's the Rev 1 & 2's (1990-1993) were 220bhp with a CT26 Turbo running l think 0.7 bar of boost with paper head gasket. You could only turn the boost up to 0.9 or you risk blowing the H/G.
Rev 3-5 are 240bhp with a CT20b turbo @ 0.9 bar and a metal H/G. You can run 1.2 bar with fuel cut at 1.24 bar.
Also the CT20b pulls hard to 7K where as the CT26 drops off from 6K.
On a test drive put your foot hard down in 3rd from 2000rpm and it should boost from 2K all the way to 7K with no flat spots.
