| With the saxo starting to try and kill me seriously considering listening to my mum and buying a different car and selling off the saxo parts. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190468607042&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITOffered him £250 ages ago before he got messed about. Its cheaper to insure than the saxo, is cheap and looks to not need much work. Body work I can sort myself. When I have been paid do I buy it and bin the saxo after selling the engine etc. Think I should be able to make £1000 from saxo parts. Yes or no??? | |

| No. Use the £1000 to buy a half decent one. | |

| So thats a yes sell the saxo? I really have had enough of it. If I sold the saxo parts I could probably afford to buy a turbo Seeing as the insurance is still less than the saxos!! | |

| Engines can sell for £400+, wheels around £250 cause not best condition, then there is the exhaust which is worth secondhand around £300 for the lot.
Plus the little things I have and then I can maybe sell the shell.

| Just an FYI Rich... Saxo/106 parts aren't selling easily ATM and they aren't fetching much dollar either - my 16v block went for £90 in the end, my TD 1.2s from the Saxo went for £180, ive litterally just sold some Spax I had lying about for 4 months for £50. Not a good time to be doing it unless you're prepared to sell cheap or you don't mind waiting for stuff to move. Stop mincing though | |

| Haha speaking of mincing, just found this.... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2242383.htmPossible one for me. Yeah I have the bmw till end of Jan, might have work by then with any luck so could afford something. Not too fussed about waiting, I know things arent selling too well. Got some threads on boners and spax-p to guage interest. | |

The best idea ever You are wrong, why swap on french pile of poo for an older french pile of poo? Maybe if I had a daily car I would get one.

| Get a Fiat Coupe Turbo... Or megane Get rid of the saxo, i thought it was a bit silly keeping it and getting a mr2 as a daily because the saxo will be underpowered and you will just want RWD on track | |

| Rich sell the saxo and save as much as possible and buy a decent n/a. Rev1-2 or if you can make it to £1500 you could pick up a decent high mileage rev3. As long as the car has a decent service history the engines last well. Mine old rev3 n/a was on 152K and was still on the original H/G. Turbos dont take the mileage so well. Any mr2 you buy try get one with as much history as possible. Id be very very carefull buying a turbo for any less than 2K. Personally l would'nt do it. For a decent rev1-2 turbo your looking at no less than 2.5K mate, you dont want to be buying a turbo thats not being serviced or looked after as it should. Ive read so many horror stories of people buying cheap £1500 turbos then paying the same again for an engine re-built. Alot of dogs about mate including n/a's so just be carefull or you might find yourself with a money pit. If it was my money id try my best to get a decent n/a bud. Find a good one and you should have many trouble free miles ahead | |

| I might be getting a job, so will wait to see how that goes. Now I am not spending money on the saxo I should have a little more for putting towards a car.
I have started to get offers on parts already!
I just need to decide what sort of car I want. I want something fun on track but still useable daily, not too expensive on parts or insurance.
Mx-5, prelude(older square shaped ones), mr2, maybe golf, or bmw e30/e36 or something. Ideas would be helpful

| Avoid an mr2 turbo then fuel will kill you mate.
n/a's aint cheap to run and parts are expensive.
But fit some decent pads (yellow stuff were fine on my n/a) and fluid change and they are track ready.

rich can you tell who I listened to when looking for one, considering what I said on FB the other day! but as said, if your after a nice daily an N/A is the better one tbh as a turbo will rape you on fuel, i've found that and you don't realise until you actually are at the pump on every 1-2 journeys

| If you really wanted a rev3 turbo project l found this in b4t colours! http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=139066Ill be honest l wouldnt buy it myslef due to the mileage and lack of service history. Body can be sorted but engine/turbo parts are expensive! But you wont find a cheaper rev3 turbo. | |
