| Car looks real nice jo...still to see it in the flesh though! Turbo would be cool. Did some looking into it the other night and the yanks had some good results. If no turbo I'd go with an h22...200-217 bhp stock dependant on which h22 used and A LOT cheaper than finding integra engines and more power and torque! | |

| Awesome, absolutely love the Civic front end, and the seats!
Any idea if the front end is an easy swap? | |

| Just had a quick scan through the thread and picked this out.....
Turboing a car is not witch craft, it’s very simple to do. You can turbo a car for very little, even more so when it’s a popular car that has an insane amount of cheap aftermarket tuning parts available – like the CRX.
It’s a tried and tested route – turboing a CRX isn’t breaking new ground, people know what works, how much power you can run, how much boost the engine will take and there are plentiful and cheap off the shelf bits to do it.
You can buy a turbo manifold for £100, you can get a second hand T25 turbo for not much more, an intercooler off a SAAB / Volvo is a scrap yard find and will be more than adequate, a turbo down pipe is easily fabricated, bigger injectors can be sourced second hand off another car – mod the sump for an oil drain.
Some money spent on some IC piping, hoses, clamps, and oil line and your ready to go. The biggest expense will be engine management and even then Hondata is cheap, with lots of support and available maps to get you running.
Very doable on a budget and with good results.
A mate turboed his 4age - £120 Ebay manifold, £100 T25, scrap yard IC off a boned Volvo, an assortment of boost pipes and hose and a Power FC and its making 190bhp. Its not pretty but its functional and the car shifts, and all on a stock bottom end of a 25 year old engine! The car does numerous drift days and track days too.

| Realistically you'd be looking at least 1k to get it running right on mostly 2nd hand parts and maybe a little more including the labour. Running low boost to keep the stock internals can't see much more than 180 being run reliably...although having the turbo would be cool! I've always been under the idea it's easier and normally more reliable opting for a bigger horsepower engine that's an easy fit...but not as cool for bragging rights! | |
