xsara track build

hello evryone i have a strom grey citroen xsara 1998 phase 1 vts 2.0l 16v which i do love alot lol i have been working on her for a little while now even when she wernt mine!



so far its had a bespoke rollcage, cda airfilter zinc plated steel gear rods which i made! the engine is coming out again due to low compression issues from the last rebore! im having it rebored again and im putting in wossner race pistions and getting a mega squirt ecu o also has semi solid engine mounts!




i also have brembo 4 pot brake calipers with citroen sport logo on the outer caseing bilstien fast road struts with ebiach springs i also have tsw imolas in 17x7 and DTM wing mirrors!









also im in the prosess of making my areoquip brake hoses and a refurb of my calipers!

anyway any quiestions feel free to ask!!!!

Not a fan of thd dtm mirrors, but car looks good.

Gold wheels are a different choice, havent seen many cars bar the scoobies that can pull them off.

was this in combe not so long ago, how do you get on with the brembo squeal.

well i dont like them either lol dunno why there on tbh haha and i think i migh refurb me wheels gloss black not sure if the look good how they are

yes but i didnt own it then lol only recently perchased it but i did work on it before hand good memory

cheers dude im just glad i have worked in motorsport and had my head in engine bays from th age of 5 or i would probly on a halfords pimped 1.1 fiesta haha

looks like a good project mate and definitely something different...I don't recall ever being on track with one.

really well ive heard them discribed as a close comparison to the honda integra dc2!

I will say, they are a very good handling car! My old Xsara was sat on cheap coilovers on the front, with nothing done to the back (standard shocks, thinner torsion bars + arb than the VTR/VTS), and the standard rubber bushes everywhere... And that out handled most cars! The only car I know locally that handled better is a stripped 1.6 Nova saloon, on expensive coilovers and polybushed all round!

yeah engine rocks around alot on OE mounts and bushes seams so much more stable with the semi solid mounts! yet to get solid bushes and make myself some droplinks i still have the plastic ones haha least i got better gear rods!!

ok guys would like your opinon im thinksing about painting my car a really shiny black and powdercoating my wheels a really bright orange or yellow or should i just powdercoat the wheels black lol

haha yeah was just a phase i went thorugh lol they were on my old 306 dturbo but i wont be using them soon so there be going in the bin or donated to some poor sole ass i have my tsw imolas now and im afraid the cage is welded in lol but if i get bored and you want a phase one with a cage id do it cheap for ya lol

Your old wheels?! I'd be interested as a set of cheap winter wheels if your gunna get rid And that is just teasing!

Ideal No rush atm anyway as its only just coming towards summer

yeah atually cant wait for summer exspecaily as i should have my licence soon

small update!

spacers and wheels now sorted!(kind of)





also as i had the disc cutter out as i was shortening wheel bolts i made myself a waterproof ecu cover just need to mount it i cut up the origonal batery box haha



also managed to get my steering wheel on so not alot but i didnt have that long lol!

Wheels look good, suit the silver... not sure on the blue steering wheel though...

cars going black and wheels will be flouresnt yellow lol doing the inlet mani and rockercovers to match! ive got strange taste

well not much progress as ive been busy at work so not had the energy to do the car lol but its going to get fixed up and sold on as i have a need to buy a subaru i really want on so my xsara will be for sale soon!

I don't want to break the car tbh as its got the full cage I'm looking fir enough to get me a version 3-4 Scooby should be easy tbh as the car is near enought track/race ready can send a pm with full spec and details if you like dude if ur interested

well i didnt sell it but run out of mony aftr buying a new bottom end and another head rebuilding it to find out the head was fucked no fun

Can you not just go to whoever you bought the head off? Assuming it weren't sold as seen..

He sorted me with another and I passed my driving test today :-D track here I come
