Brands Hatch 03.11.08... Pics!

Thought I would do a little write up on our first successful (well nearly ) event!

On Monday I was scheduled in to do a trackday with Norledge and MGM however circumstances beyond Alex’s control meant he couldn’t go on track, Norledge didn’t either but that’s because he’s a mincer and didn’t finish the shity in time.

We arrived at Brands Hatch at 8.50am yes we were late for the briefing by five minutes and due to this they all took the piss out of moi in the briefing room lmao. After we all came out of the briefing I had to sign on and go and get the GTI sound tested to which the marshall carrying out the sound test replied that exhaust won’t annoy anybody but have you got a big stereo in there (it might run interior mate but the car is used properly ~ Woz). Once that was carried out I proceeded out on track for the familiarisation laps 3 in total. Then I went to get fuel…

…Back at Brands, Norledge and MGM along with Sez and Katherine made their way up to paddock hill and druids view points. When I came back I set off on my first lap all went well, got overtaken by most things but that was expected. Coming round for lap 2 there was a yellow flag from a golf deciding not to bother with using the large circular object in front of him and plant himself into the druids kitty litter his 2nd lap aswell.

Throughout the day the track was drying out and you could literally follow the racing line where the cars had dried it out further. Then at about 10:30am it started to rain and the fog came down, Most of the expensive exotica didn’t proceed out at this point but me in my little French poopoo box went out to practice lift off .

Considering I had gone from being passed by everything on my 1st lap by the end I was pushing integra DC2’s out of the way and chasing a Renault Megane Sport around for about 4-5laps I recon I could have took him aswell but I had to slow to let a 205 come past. L.

Overall though it was the best car orientated event I’ve been to for a while and really cannot wait for the next one and Mallory in May.

Oh yeah and I really need a bucket Seat : P

Sounds like that marshall was being a bit of a knob, i had a sarcastic one at Bedford, if i wasnt afriad of being thrown out of the day id of told him where to stick that noise testing thing.

think the biggest bell of a marshall was sat in the tower at the pit entrance, the number of times that 205 overtook on the corner was ridiculous. made my blood boil

it wasn't bad at all to be honest, towards the end of the session it was a bit moist, but we seem to have endless luck when it comes to winter Brands.

it started to rain/drizzle on the last hour but nothing to bad, the cars started to kick up abit of spray in the last 20-30minutes however it got worse for the afternoon session as that was called off early.

The car handled brilliantly, just need a bucket seat as I was nearly falling out at times when I was pushing towards the end while chasing the Megane. Could give the car soo much more if I had one.
