I was at Mallory last weekend and what a track! It's designed for the 106. Really fun. This was the first time out with the Quaife and the difference it makes is unreal. The 106 was pretty quick and managed to hold its own.
If you've not done Mallory, you need to do it. I want to go back again this year. It was that good.
This one is for Woz... Gerrards is quality. It's not a test of you car, it's a test of how big you gonads are Quickest I managed to come out of there was 90mph before I ran out of revs. I should have used 4th a bit more but I'd feel a bit more comfortable if I had some grippy tyres. I found myself drifting very close to the grass at times and not wanting to lift off!
Devil's Elbow is great fun too. Didn't take me long to pluck up the courage to go flat down there
Played with tyre pressures too which did seem to make a difference. Ran 31psi on the rear and 29psi on the fronts. Would have liked to have tried 30 rear and 28 front but I was having too much fun to mess about with them!
Must get a camera sorted for the inside of the car.
Had quite a few red flags. Downtime mostly caused by people doing the usual and trying to drive back to the pits when leaking some form of fluid. For example the poor kit car owner that lost it going down Devil's Elbow, went nose first in to the armco, bounced off back on to the track, selected an appropriate gear and tried to make it back in the pits. Whilst steam pours from the rad as the coolant is flooding out. What are these people thinking at times?!
And the best bit of the day? Being told "You may as well get throttle bodies now before we start paying the mortgage". Oh yes! Been in talks with Pug1Off already.

Nope! Not sure how/if they decide what layout to use (maybe the organiser specifies?).
