Range Rover Evoque Empty
PostSubject: Range Rover Evoque   Range Rover Evoque EmptyFri Jul 29, 2011 6:23 am

As some of you may or may not know I've spent the past two days at the UK launch of the Evoque...

It may not interest you but i thought i'd do my own little review Razz

One word describes the top of the range version - Awesome. Sadly the rest of the range are lacking a little.

The first car i drove was a 2.2 Diesel 150BHP, 4WD Automatic, Base spec, but don't get me wrong still a luxury car.

The drive was relatively unremarkable - just a Freelander 2 but a bit pokier. So i concentrated on the toys... the USB drive which you can run HD quality films direct to the on screen display, and the Bluetooth Audio Streaming, Playing music wirelessly from your bluetooth device. Then had a play with the park assist.. thats odd. It finds a space big enough to fit in, the controls all the steering... very odd.

Next car was the same sort of thing, but a kind of middle of the range spec. 190BHP this time. Leather clad everything, the most awesome panoramic roof i've ever seen. Then had a play off road... despite it's size its got a better ground clearance than a Sport so it was surprisingly capable.

Those two were the starter. The third car was worth the wait. Three door top of the range model. £80000 worth. New 290BHP Turbo'd Petrol. Flappy Paddle gear box and Magnaride suspension... flick it to 'Dynamic' mode and it stiffens the whole chassis. The shocks take reading every millisecond and adjust the damping and rebound instantaneously. It's a strange feeling... gently driving down a road, cruising, then throwing into a corner and handling like a proper fun car.

I'll get some pics i took up later. But now i really really want one Sad
