Anyone know anything about them? Or if feeling bored l need research in finding out about fitting the 2.0 3SGE out an mr2. 170bhp & 1000kg should a fun and cheap to run daily Very Happy

Corolla engine is a 1.6 which is the same engine as in the MK1 mr2. You can fit MK2 engines into the mk1 mr2. So i assume you can fit MR2 engines into the corolla.

This one is a Twiggies near stus house. H/G has gone and im sure the guy said the bottom end started knocking? Anyone remember lol?

Quote :
The straight swaps are:

4A-GZE
4A-GE 20 Valve ST
4A-GE 20 Valve BT

The 4A-GZE is a straight swap other than the PAS lines need to be modified and you need to make sure it comes with the 4A-GZE engine mounts as they are different from the 4A-GE's.

The 20 Valve 4A-GE swaps are straight forward and as far as I know require nothing to be modified. They are tough to get hold of and the Black Top is the more powerful of the two.

Any of these swaps will require the ECU related to the engine. You will need the loom and ECU for the swap.

You can also go and do a 3S-GTE but that needs a lot of work and it can be tough to get a Rev 3 engine with a good history and price.

From a little look around, it would seem that one of the engine mounts don't line up, so that needs to be fab'd. Also you need to use the box from a 3sge camry, and generally most conversions done use standalone management too, although I'm not too sure why.

Lol the whole point of the car is is cheaper to run than the jeep and Mr2. Besides id never pick the corolla over the Mr2 if it had the same engine.
