Anyone know where I can get a turbo conversion for my Gti 6?

S\C is better from what i can make out and Simon with the DC5 on here is the man for the info about them or Chris with the Rallye

You going to do a build on the engine too or just run low boost on standard internals?

lynx power engineering are the kiddies for gti6 superchargers...

I'd rather run a low boost on standard internals just want a quick fix of power really

lynx offer two setups.

low boost, standard engine 250 hp

high boost, forged engine 450-500 hp

^ not sure I'd trust a power increase of 50% on standard internals, recipe for blowing something. Would have thought 25-30% increase would be enough on standard internals to try and ensure the engine survived? Even that would be 210-220 bhp!

theres about 30+ low boosted gti6's now on this setup. some covering prob 20K plus and no issues yet.

theres track, race and road car's on this setup out there too

A DIY turbo setup really isnt hard and will save you a TON on taking it to somewhere like lynx. Yes supercharged Gti6s are good but unless youve got money dripping out of your ass and an afford the lynx high boost setup id go for turbo imo.

Havnt quite got to go to the 300bhp as i dont think you can go that high on stock internals. But cummon, how can you not want this in your life?!

I'm thinking of getting a turbo and a manifold and taking it to a really good engineer/family friend an seeing what he can come up with,then it's just a case of getting a intercooler ect! And uprating the brakes

well u could get tbs and a set of cams

gti6 brakes will be fine with some decent pads and brembo discs

have a look at bobdylan 55's 309 turbo project in the projects section on gti6 oc. few pages in but should find some good info about diy turbo on gti6 engine.

I'll admit though, why more people don't turbo the J4RS I'll never know... They're prime for it really...

I mean, come on, they've even got an oil feed on the back of the block just waiting to be hooked up to a blower! GT3071R on the side of one of one would be more than a little naughty IMO - and although the Rotrexes are good, it'd be nice to see something different!

trouble is though tom had a few issues with his turbo conversion (back in the day) and when rich brought the what seemed more reliable rotrex kit it seemed the obvious choice

Oh sure, don't get me wrong, for a fit and forget conversion you really can't beat the Rotrex kits... But because I'm odd, I couldn't just have an off the shelf kit - I'd much prefer to do something myself and call it my own...

With Turbo conversions, it's all about the mapping as far as I can see, that's what makes or breaks them...

With the variability of Turbocharging, I wouldn't trust past about 230hp on stock internals, with excellent mapping, you could see 250hp, but I think you'd be compromising the engine... It's just not as predictable as supercharging...

Just spend 13k on buying that 205 500bhp & put the engine in yours job done.

or just play 10k then he will put it in yours!

its not when its on map 1 it works really well and it have got a full track set of ast's with camber ajustment so its set up for track more that drag
