Oulton Park on friday next 24th Feb

Wonderful Oulton Park next Friday.
I'm going with my son in the Elise its a birthday pressie from him to me.

Hopin its dry but hey, whatever it'll be a good day.

Prob the last track day for the tyres, they've done 18 months and about a dozen track days and are about done.

They are so hard they wont wear out but not a lot of grip. Nice slides though and predictable, like driving on gravel but with grip

Well it was wet in the morning and I went out for a spin. It was like trying to walk on ice with slippery shoes on, no grip whatso ever bloody awful.
Front end was loose, couldnt brake hard or go round corners, tyres are crap.

BUT.....

the afternoon was dry and it was fantastic, still no grip but predictable slides twas brilliant untill our Sie killed the brakes chasing caterhams.
Still had brakes but not on form really.

Good day out spoiled only by tits trying to overtake on corners, one porche in race trim on slicks went by me on the offside on a corner, very naughty but nothing siad to him, they think its a race practice day and want every one to get out of the way, I lost it and the tail was all over the place at about 70mph coming out of the chicane and a Caterham went up the inside, dont know how he missed gettin swiped.

Any way still a good day out but no pictures only this bit of video with the Elise spittin a flame going past the pits. (not sure if it'll work!!)
