Prelude 2.2 Vtec Empty
PostSubject: Prelude 2.2 Vtec   Prelude 2.2 Vtec EmptyMon Apr 09, 2012 1:38 am

Well as most of you know, I am now the owner of a 'lude (Well from around 5 months ago!)

The car has been around my family a little bit to say the least but here is its previous thread from my brother!

http://www.built4track.co.uk/t816-nellers2001-jdm-22-vtec-prelude

First month of being my daily driver (50 - 100 miles a day) and the crank pulley deceided to try and run away... Phoned honda and trade price for a new pulley is £250 inc Vat, so it made perfect sense to me to buy another complete engine with gearbox for £140!

Also started ordering some parts so I can more the battery into the boot to spread the weight abit more evenly, but mostly to make space for the below...

Long of the short, Im currently saving for a new ECU of which I shall remove the dizzy and install coil on plug for a better and more reliable timing system! Then next shall come forged rods, forged pistons, a turbo and all that jazz! I intend for somewhere around the 400bhp area.

Only pictures I have to hand of the car atm:

Unlucky with the crank pulley, cheap enough for the new block though! Turbo plans sound good dude Smile

Thanks all :-) Ordered some slim fans to fit infront of the radiator last night so that will free up some space in the bay!

Good job as the original fans between the rad and manifold are a pain in the arse!! You going to wire them into an over ride switch too??

Lime green with the carbon bonnet would look pretty sweet.

I like sams idea for how to paint it, rambo style!

Prelude 2.2 Vtec Empty
PostSubject: Re: Prelude 2.2 Vtec   Prelude 2.2 Vtec EmptySat Oct 27, 2012 8:50 pm

Well this hasn't been update any time soon has it!
I got my wide-band and fitted my ecu. Went out mapping at late o'clock (when the roads are quiet) with my brother Alex and after a tank and half she was pretty much set up and running like a dream! The power increase peak was enough but the overall power and pick up is unreal!
But now its happened... The car is off the road and I'm driving the girlfriends 106. All this means is I can afford and have time to make the car my own! I am putting my battery in the boot (cable and breaker currently sitting in the bedroom draws, and having a custom sealed alloy battery box made up), the interior is now completely stripped other than a dash and front door cards, I'm picking my rear alloy diffuser up on Monday, turbo will be on order this weekend (I've almost finished my intake manifold which is the standard one but flowed as the standard one can only flow around 400bhp) and suspension will be ordered within the next few weeks! My spare engine is now pretty much cleaned up ready to go in once I can afford to rebuild my current engine. I have also agreed a price with a company for a full respray inside and out including wheels and a few other bits and bobs but this wont be until next winter!
Hopefully the car will be back on the road in the beginning of the new year and I'm hoping to break the 300whp but this will be completely down to my limits of boost on the standard engine!

Cheers, Josh
