| Hey all! Not been on here for a while, some will remember my 106 Gti-iTB Well i sold that about 5 months ago, and bought this Then bought some wheels & arches, Then got bored of the silly low & sold it last weekend. So the new project was collected after a 315 Mile round trip! Spec '92 1.6 Import Black, with black interior & roof Pretty Much standard bar a horrid gear knob & a JVC headunit. Apparently has RX8 Bose speakers in the door & JVC speakers in the seats Optional Real spoiler? Not my taste & will be gone Nardi Wooden Wheel So thats enough talk, no for some bad photo's from the journey home. More to follow tomorrow after a clean and good inspection! Interior Exterior And the 3 hour drive home, was great! i LOVE it! So the plans? - Lows - Dished Splits - only seen once, won't be revealed till done. But some teasers to follow - Front plate removed & smoothed - Rear spoiler removed & replaced with a ducktail spoiler smoothed in - Rear panel De-badged & painted satin black - Gold front & Rear tow eyes - Momo Team to replace Nardi - New Seats - not 100% on what yet. But will be red - New Gear-knob - again, not sure on what - Revlimiter Dials - Chrome/Polished mirrors - Custom exhaust - different tip but want Corn rasp - New air filter - looking like BMC carbon enclosed - Jap show plate! - S2000 Start button - Remove Front & rear fogs - aftermarket things - Lazy eye kit - Jass' Stainless TSI's - unsure if black or silver yet Now thats all i can think at the mo. But will be slow & most prob change my mind loooooooads And now some teaser shots of the wheels Cheers! Looking forward to meeting people & getting know on the forum! comments, slagging off, criticism, and hatred all welcome! | |

| Plans sound good, although whatever wheels you've chosen, I guarantee they'll have been done on at least 10 MX-5's! Just the way things are with them, they've been around and have a massive following, there's hardly anything that hasn't been done.
Be prepared to struggle rolling the arches too... not easy to get anywhere near smooth unless they are completely perfect.
Looks like it might be lowered already?!

| Cheers buddy! First Update! So as today has been the first day without rain since I've owned the car a few jobs got done! First of all, these fell off the front Yep, lost the front fogs, didn't enjoy them personally and didn't seem to work, so they came off! Then tried to loose the front plate, but te bracket was being silly and not budging! So left that! Since getting her home i've been meaning to take a look under and in the arches to check things out, and see if the struts look lowered, as the car seems to be. Greeted with very rust struts & springs, but seem to be green...... and noticed this bracket with nothing on? Are these a Mk2 set? So, to me them seem to be aftermarket stuff, but no labels or anything! Next, i thought as she's in the air, I'll try my new wheels. I love the way they sit so far & can't wait to see them built up & back on! Fronts Rear Next, gave a wash, clay, wash & wax! Blimey, the paint from a distance and photos is great! Up close, its full of scratches! Reflections for giggles So next on the agenda is: - New headlights - Full service - Seems i need new engine mounts - looking at IL motorsport ones - sort leaking roof/seals Comments & criticism welcome! | Ive got to say I like the wheel colour choice. Works.
Got a linky for the IL motorsport bushes? Its something I have been debating doing to mine. Also gives me an excuse to whip the engine out.
What else are you planning once the arches are done? Good job on not revealing the new wheels too I thought!

| Cheers Cheap/Ghetto Update Been looking into induction kits, filters etc and what the best option is and discovered that alot of people recommend a K&N panel filter & drilled airbox. So today, i set about sorting it! Feels wrong doing it, but still picked up the Drill! Before: After: Not driven it yet, not expecting amazing gains! Will need to order a filter now! Cheers Rich! | |

| Stock airbox is hugely restrictive, you'll be surprised. Did a Pipercross panel filter to my old one, felt and sounded exactly the same - drilled the airbox, more noise and picks up better on the move! | |

| Godders's car is seriously awesome when you look at the work that's been put into it, there's 2 progress threads on MX5Nutz if you've got some spare time to kill. When it's complete (I say that, it's constantly evolving!) it'll look seriously, proper insane. | |

| Updates. Been looking into a DIY CAI a few people in US seem to be running but was greated by this, which i think is going to make things difficult...... Booo! Right! Another Update! So these turned up in the post today Crystal Lenses & Osram 90% Brighter bulbs. Meaning i should be able to see at night again! So Before: During comparison One side done Other side done Headlights. Done! And the old shite ones Next was to look into the CAI i mentioned above, so sourced some hoseing from a friend for free! Win! Routed it from the intake of airbox, and checked sizings out. Looks like it will work! Juust need to get a large drill bit and start some cutting! But for the time being i left it in & routed it facing some cold air, rather than the wing like the OEM one! Lastly, set about looking into my shite bonnet alignment. Everytime i shut it, it rested open like so: thats not in the latch! Worked out the rubber strip/weather strip seem to be causing the bonnet from not shutting properly. So removed it Seems perfect, apart from the top corner.... No idea how to sort this? C&C welcome as always! Rich | |

| Um mine appears the same in that corner. Odd. Mines been in a bump though.
Headlights look much better. Just had to swap mine as they were the old sealed units. Makes a change to be able to see where you are going at night doesnt it?

| So got the wheel in today. Also tried a mates new gear knob to see how it drives. Ad I love how it feels, just need to decide on that or a smaller one...... Comparison in size of wheels. And on! Also give her a quick was as I'm now going to Bromley tomorrow! C&c welcome! Rich. Few average updates. When i bought the car, it came with a ugly JVC stereo, with just CD - which was rubbish, as all my music is on iPod! So, recently talking to a college, he offered me a sony for £20 snapped his arm off. Aux in from the front, and is plain black! Bit of a ocd when it comes to tidy/single colour interiors! Before: After: Looks alot tidier! And can find radio stations now! Win! Finally today i got round to De-tangoing the front lights! Only got those pics...... and lastly, since having my jetta, i LOVE the US style front lights.... So i bought it over to the '5 Love it! Will also be swapping sidelights and indicators around! C&C Welcome. Rich Few updates coming! Have a spending spree today! Will all be delievered this week! First and major one is i got this off ebay today: Finally got me a noise maker! Its been faaaaaaaaar too quite for my liking! Will be fitted tomorrow! And in a month or so i will be changing the tip. Ordered: - Springs for lows - Wipers, New fog light switch - Gear & Handbrake Gaitors - DaveM Window switches & Hazard switches - will be tinkered with when i get em - More Paint for wheels! So the fitting list is getting longer! And the room under my bed is shrinking! Got it fitted! So today i set about tyring to fit the exhaust. First try i was defeated by the first bolt on the cat. This resulted in a trip to B&Q to get some pentrating oil, ended up only getting wd-40. So soaked offending bolts in Wd, let them soak in and got out the 'persuader' and thankfully they came loose with no snapping! Win! Next tried to get the 1 piece system out. What a pig! Had to undo the rear brace! Just as that came loose, i had to hide in here the Heavens OPENED! so hid in the car for 10 mins! it stopped for a second, went back out and succeded! But, after a few mins it started raining but battled through! Only started it for a second so not really heard it! I don't like the tip, so that'll be changed soon! De-cat could be on shortly too! C & C welcome! | |
