| Having seen a few people I know have signed up on here, I thought it was about time I checked it out and showed my face You may know me from various other french car forums, but if not, I'm James, I'm 25 and I'm from Somerset. And as my name suggests, I drive a Rallye Current wagon is a LHD black 1.6 8v 106 Rallye, which I've had for just over 6 months. Just need a few niggles sorting and a bit of a tidy up mechanically and I'll be ready to get it on track a bit this year. I've also previously owned a white 306 Rallye and a white 106 Rallye, plus a S1 1.3 Rallye that I had the use of for a few months even though it wasn't mine Will probably see you all at some upcoming events, was meant to be at Combe yesterday but a very dodgy wheel bearing which I had to get sorted before I go off to the 'Ring on Wednesday stopped that! Anyhow, that's enough waffle from me, here's a couple of pics of the current Rallye | |

| Welcome along! Looks clean and you should fit in well being 80% of the club owns 106's If you can afford it and have the time get your name on the Llandow track day the club are organising! Should be a good day, and we can have a battle of the 106's!! | |

| Almost! It's been problem after problem the last week or so! Fitted new tyres, had them balanced Fitted new brakes, they hit the wheel weights, wheel weights had to come off! Drove to work with very shaky steering (LOL), got wheels re-balanced) Discovered serious play in the front wheel So yesterday I got the wheel bearing and tomorrow it's being fitted, then early hours of Wednesday morning I'm off to the Nurburgring. Talk about cutting it close! I've also got some overheating issues to have a look at as well, going to re-bleed the cooling system later today see if it sorts itself out. I do quite fancy the Llandow day, providing the car isn't being french at the time | |

Is this sort of thing frowned upon on here? I better leave then Lol I do like to keep it clean but at the end of the day it's a 13 year old car with plenty of stone chips across the front, I'm not afraid to use it properly. Just haven't had chance to get on track in it yet. Kris, that sounds about right but my last two cars were a bit crap, Rack's a bit more track ready, or it will be once I've sorted out this wheel bearing!

| I have done a 2 hour session in the old 106 at Zanvoort (in Holland, lol), but other than that it's been a couple of Combe action day sessions and about ten laps of the Nurburgring. I'd like to try a proper track day | |

| cool, I want to do the nurburgring but I want a car that I know will get me there. Proper days are abit different, you don't really get any of the heroes like you do on action days bar normally one. | |

| Last two times I've been in a car that got me there and then self destucted, haha. 306 decided to try and shed it's rear dampers and then got a leak from the coilover adjuster, 106 decided to lose all it's coolant somewhere along the way (leaving me to find some Radweld in a german garage!) and disconnect it's own battery in a cobbled street in Cologne!
I just want to potter around a bit at my own speed until I'm used to it, and I want a bit more run off and cheaper repair bills than the 'Ring, then I won't mind going a bit faster!

| lmao, When I went to scotland last year...covered approx 2000 miles inc getting there and back over the week and 2 things went wrong...exhaust snapped so had to find a stainless steel welder in the middle of nowhere and my alternator belt came off again in the middle of nowhere with no tools. God only knows what it would be like going to the ring | |

| Haha, yeah, had a disaster on my LE-JoG trip too, up near the Scottish border at 12:30pm on a Saturday and the clutch cable snapped off, leaving the pedal swinging. Of course, any local car parts places were all just closing. RAC man came out and did a bodge to get me about 500 miles home At least I have german ADAC cover to get me home from over there, even if I break it on the 'Ring! | |
