yeah gotta do something to keep the AA earning their fees

I'm well up for doing this - just don't want to commit just yet, job's looking a bit unstable as of today!

I want to do this. Need to make sure I have money first as got a fair few car meets and such going on.

I can post this on my local clubs site if thats ok with people?
I might see some of you at combe on saturday too.

Ill be along to watch/passenger but funds simply wont allow for any track time, especially as l will be spending "the day" on track or at the local shell garage.

Now on BMW E46 owners forum as well with links to this thread and the register page as few boys interested in track days there to!

Ill take the car for the welsh roads so you could always come down in the 2 if your not bringing anyone else. + if a french car breaks ill ask if can have the track time and get a few laps in

Ad, Sam and Sez will be coming too... and we need the Disco incase anyone breaks down one the day (Read - we need the disco, to break down on the day)

Hopefully Sam will be driving by then and be on track kicking ass until he lets you have a drive and break it lol

For those who are seasoned trackers (?), what do you recommend for brakes and tyres on a full track day?

Spare set of pads? Discs? Pads and discs?

And what about tyres? I've only got one set of wheels at the moment. Is it worth buying a second set and using them purely on track?

What does everyone do and what would you recommend?

Hardly a seasoned tracker, however, the day I spent at Llandow last year, no-one brought anything along those lines. Just basic tools (and an engine crane, as you do lol!)

Tyre wear wasn't even too bad either.

But all that said, it was a typical Welsh day - tipping it down

You wont need spare discs or pads as long as your pads arnt low to start with. Tyres will depend on the tyre itself. Soft/hard compound tread remaining before track and how you drive it.

Yeah wouldnt worry. Aslong as you got 1 spare wheel with you and some basic tools your be fine.

Llandow is hard on breaks and tyers and its only because you get so much track time. Im going to get new breaks and take the old ones with me not sure about wheels yet tho

if you've got a spare set of wheels, bring them. beyond that, spare fluids, some tools, something to sit on and a change of pants

The disco will be coming, full of tools, and a hammer.

Llandow is harsh on tyres, so if you're planning on driving it home ideally i'd reccomend a second set of wheels/tyres.

is it definately 30th june then as i need to get the day off as lots of peeps in my place ar also wanting leave arpund then!

If we can get a provisional date, I'll get it booked off.

And I think I'll keep an eye out for a spare set of wheels. Sounds like a sensible idea.

When the list is 10, and everyone is happy to pay £140, i'll book. Looks like it'll have to be MONDAY 28TH anyway.

I'm good with the 28th and £140 just need to pull my finger out and get the car finished

think most people would be happier with the monday tbh

edit: just note, mondays are slightly more expensive - 20 cars will bring the price out somewhere nearer £90 than £70. still a chuffing bargain though

i have provisionally booked the monday - wednesday :-) monday would be better though nice long weekend

Who wants to buy me track time as its my birthday on the 27th

I'll see if the car is repaired or re-shelled for this.

Sorry guys I'm not going to come to this, more financial reasons although it would also be a rush from finishing uni. I'm starting to save to get some engine stuff done, and also holiday, so won't be able to attend any full days until after Summer I imagine.

Ill keep a look at for this, my cars going to be back on the road in May but as far as im aware im working until the 27th June so I should be good for it. Cant book anything until last minute though.

Would be awesome if you can make it mate! Once it's booked, you'll be ok to pay on the day if required... means i can give some money back to the rest of the guys

When the date is sorted ill throw this up on the 2 mr2 forums l use and ill also sign up to a few more jap forums. + we need jap cars for japfest in aug lol
