Does anybody know where to look to find these values out, or have access to them through a programme/work?

Are you sure they are different?? I've sold 1.1 for 1.6's in the past and never had a return?

The 1.1 spi and 1.6 Rallye both run a fuel return, the spi does for sure anyway. It's more the flow rates I'm worried about going from spi to mpi

Just double checked S2 Rallye fuel rail runs a return pipe which is good.

Yes that what i ment Razz

I'd put money on the 1.1 one being fine. If not just go down a scrappie and run a Granada extrnal one as a 'helper' pump Smile

Okay cool. I just had a look under the covers, the spi one is totally different from the xsi one so I can't even swap it over. Will either need to put the motor from xsi pump into spi casing or just hope spi has a good enough flow rate for now.

Asking around how to do it incase it comes down to it..

Jonny you'll need an MPi pump.

If your SPi one looks different you might have the S2-style one, what year is your car?

I know I've got the earlier S1 style fuel pump so we had to find a S1 MPi pump, got one from an XSi but I'm fairly certain the fuelling is the same for all MPi pumps.

Makes no odds to performance, just get the right one for the engine that's going in.

I have an S2 style pump. From speaking to Gav, atspeed racing and advice from RR just use the SPi pump as it should provide enough fuel. If not just put a GTi pump in as it'll be easier to find than a Rallye pump! The fact it has a return line is a good sign.

I'll wait and see. Fuel starvation at 7,200rpm? :p

Hmm... personally I wouldn't want to half-arse it when for the sake of 20 quid you can get a 'proper' fuel pump tbh.

Especially as when the new engine goes in you'll want to troubleshoot any running issues it has, and if there's one thing you know isn't quite right it could mask or amplify other possible problems trying to get the thing running right.

Just a thought.

We'll see we'll see.. it might flow enough tbh at least to run and drive at the very very worst.

You got any data on flow rates?

Not long to wait either wayyy
