Lol i remember agruing with my dad a few years ago... Hydrogen Fuel Cells are the only way the motor industruy can turn. Simple.

Electric cars are pointless for the eco nuts. How exactly is the electricity produced to charge and run the car????

I like the look of the Vauxhall Ampera tho, plug it in at night and you can do 40miles. Then a petrol engine generator starts up to provide electric to travel over 300miles.

You could drive to work and back all week and the engine never start

Best of both worlds and does the equivelent of 175mpg!


Hydrogen has got to be the future tho, they just need to sort out the distibution of the stuff

I wonder how our govt would justify 75% tax on what is essentially a water product.

or how the petrol companies will justify 120p a litre.

They will just tax more for buying them etc

They will find some way to make money from them.

^ err, they are giving grants for buying electric/low emmision cars currently.

That and free road tax. Anything under 99g/km iirc is nothing.

My 206 1.4HDI is 119g/km so tax cost me £30 for a year

i know the US gave a billion towards research, but they cut it back when they realised just how slow a process it'd be to roll out the infrastructure.

as soon as they realise the loss to the treasury on the emissions rates they'll raise it elsewhere, that's pretty much what the debate over moving to tax by the mile and more toll roads is about. Give with one hand take with the other

it's nice ish but seems like a lot of hassle and a little to late tbh for saving the planet, carbon footprint
