Peugeot 306 GTi-6 Progress thread (update)

Thought i would start a proper thread in the right section, ADMIN, you can delete the other threads New Addition and My GTI-6

Here is the car when i first bought it







Wasnt long before the mods started, next was get it lowered






Full stainless including decat was next




Then sort the breathing side of it





Nice new Door Badges


Interior, phase 3 steering wheel and centre console to brighten it up a bit


CD changer in the boot


Some nice matching carpets


Engine mods starting to come

A set of Ph2 Newman cams


change of cambelt while i was there


then an ecu chip,
open it up

solder in the eprom holder

and just pop the eprom in


I will update this a little more tonight as a got a few more goodies as home.

Got a few more things, im going to heat wrap the downpipe and decat to try and stop the tinny noise, it only started to resonate when i changed to the decat. also some powerflex exhaust mounts and front wishbone bushes.

Seems like its coming along nicely, should be a nice car to drive on track. The 6's normally are!

yeh slowly getting there, got some braided lines in the post, and a nice strut brace to go on thanks to jamsey.

next step is
spoox uprated engine mounts,
koni adjustable's
hybrid antiroll bar for the rear to reduce lift off over steer
and lots more but 1 at a time

Fitting kit is on order for these bad boys, just waiting for the maker to get enough orders.

ahhh cool, so WHEN is the 306's first day then?

What's in the kit james, calipers and adapters for carriers? Does it use the 6's standard discs?

yeh standard gti6 discs, the kit includes the brackets the mounting bolts, and the braided lines. callipers are separate, need to get some 8mm hubcentric spacers and some slightly longer bolts.

just a small update, iv had these a while now, just need to get round to fitting them

BAKER BM top engine mount and gearbox mount

powerflex mount,




will get these on soon and should stop engine movement a bit.

aslo got some phase 3 dials to make the interior a bit up to date

You had much experience with Powerflex bushes?

No not really, i have heard mixed reveiws, but the bottom monut is just to stop back and forward movement when on and off the throttle,

good progress mate, I have the pugsport group N mount on 106 which really did make a very good difference.

have you had the engine running with those cams in?

i'd be very suprised if you can run them to full advance as most aftermarket cams which are running standard gti6 pistons have to be retarted and if the head has ever been skimmed piston and valve contact is highly likely. ending in a mush of metal.

also, i wouldnt run the BMC filter down in that location, i rebuilt a mates gti6 engine nearly 2 years ago after him going through a large puddle with the filter in that location. bent 4 conrods and oval'd the crank.

He's had the car running and apparently it goes well with them in. Not sure what he did with the timing though?

That is a very stupid place for pug to put the intake! Had this discussion with jamesy when he had an open cone induction kit on his gti6. I'd be too scared to take the car out in the tiniest bit of rain if my intake was there!

cams are on standard timing marks, i know the standard cams run very close anyway but ph2 cams are the furthest you can go without pocketing the pistons, they have been in there about 8000 miles now and no trouble. they made a good gain with a chipped ecu, had a dabble with my friends civic type r and there's nothing in it. it does seem a bit flat below 4k but after that it seems to go well after that

also the bmc has now gone for that reason, it did sound nice but didnt want to risk engine damage.

yeh it is a silly place to put the setup, the standard box is fine and there is no way it would pick up water as the intake for the box is up by the top of the radiator, but for after market filter= bad idea

i now have a 05> seat leon TFSI pipercross set up, which has the right bend to go under the coolant pipe and not hit the clutch cable lever

sounds like your in control of it all

Well hopefully more good reviews then bad, as i'm in the process of switching to Powerflex also.

they should be going on this weekend, i will let you know how i get on

just a little update, painted and lacquered the callipers, change the dials to phase three but keeping the original electronics inside. strut brace courtesy of jamsey. and a picture of my new filter setup after changing it from the puddle sucker i had. o and a sticker i found, dont no what it means but stuck in on anyway
