B4T's Anglesey Weekender, June 17th-19th 2011

Guys, You've all heard the mummerings of a weekend trip based around a trackday.

For our first one we've decided to hit Anglesey's GP Circuit.

Here is a rough diary of our plan...

Thursday 16th June

We'll be staying the whole weekend at a Camp site about 3 miles from the Track, the site is car friendly and is within walking distance of 2 pubs, a chippy and the Beach!

Hopefully we'll all meet there about 5-6pm to get set up and go and have Chips on the Beach.

Friday 17th June

Wake up, uber breakfast, then we head back to the mainland and hit this route...

If there are a lot of us we get to the start point, and split into two groups.

One group runs clockwise, the other anti-clockwise. We meet back at the start point for a bit of lunch.

After lunch we re run the route the other direction.

Hopefully the runs will be finished by mid afternoon, which will give us time to head to the Demon Tweeks Superstore in Wrexham...

Saturday 18th June

This is the actual trackday, £199 or £180 if we get 10 people in. Track opens at 8am, for sign on the start at 9. Track opens at 10, lunch at 1, closes at 5.

We'll be running the GP circuit -

Sunday 19th June

Sunday is the day to pack up camp, and hit the EVO triangle...

An amazing route, named after the Magazine who run their road tests there.

Awesome Roads, breathtaking scenery like this...





Same again, spilt into two, meet back at the start for lunch.

Then Home again.

A few notes...

The only Shell Garage on the island is on the bridge, so we'll need to stock up on fuel for the Jap Crap, as its a 25odd mile drive.

Estimated weekend mileage (using the drive from my house as an example) 600 miles plus the Trackday.

Allow say £180 for fuel, £180 for the track day, then £15 p/p for the weekend camping = £375 each plus food.

I'll start to take the money for the track and the camping when we have a reasonable number interested, a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of around £50 will be required by the middle of March.

I think i've covered everything, this thread is to gauge interest, and listen to any ideas you guys may have!

If we get pure sun over those 4 days this will be such a great weekend

I'll be there... just not 100% on the trackday itself, which is just down to funds really. Will see what I can do though!

This is going to be epic, long weekend of beer petrol and laffs. If the numbers are huge should we have a few lead cars on the drive so we dont end up split up?

Pretty much the same as chris tbh unless someone decides to invest in a french tin then things will change.

Im in, depending on funds, shouldnt be an issue with me now working though. Depends on when you'd be looking for payment and what the ring trip is looking like to cost.

Definitely want to do this track. Been very jealous everytime I watch 5th gear!

Its only 15 miles up the road, and i spend most my time there in the summer so you may well see the GTO going about

Right, been having a look at my finances for the next few months. Put a fair bit aside for my Monaco trip so I won't be doing the track day. Wouldn't mind passengering up with someone for the weekend though and paying a bit towards the fuel

I shall have to pull out of this guys

Parents need money to help out so most of my wages will be going to them. If I find the money then I'll try and come along.

Anyone want to buy some crap?
