| British Touring Car Championship organiser TOCA has today announced that following full analysis of technical data* and taking into consideration other relevant results/information, the new maximum boost limit for all turbocharged cars in the series will be 0.1 bar lower than that recorded by each car on the TOCA Performance Monitoring Device (Logger) during qualifying and rounds four, five and six at Donington Park. This will take effect for and from round seven of the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (Thruxton 30 April-1 May). It effectively means that whatever boost pressure each car was previously logged as using (i.e. below the former 1.8 limit), then they will each now run to 0.1 bar less. * Technical data analysis carried out by the Chairman of the ETRP (Engine Technical Review Panel) Paul Leeming and the BTCC Chief Scrutineer Peter Riches. | |

| I think it's to stop Plato bursting into flames with his moaning?
To be fair all the na drivers knew this was coming after winter testing, although it was late they still had the cance to opt for the turbo engines and most declined.

| Silverlines choice, were probably expecting more teething troubles and opting to stay with a trusted spec. Oulton Park should level things out abit. | |

| Apparently it's actually helped with launching the car off the line and powering out of corners, less spin. It's actually given them even more advantage!
I do think the BTCC this year is a bit Plato-obsessed, always going to him for interviews in/out car and suddenly out of nowhere in the middle of a race you'll hear 'Let's see how Plato's getting on!'. Don't get me wrong, great driver, lot of respect for him, but there's a line lol! So I think the reduction may be to reduce his tantrums a bit.
It'll be interesting to see how the turbo's compare on the more technical circuits though IMO, first race of the season was won by an NA, the next two circuits were a lot faster paced.
