| I don't think the 10% will count anymore, one repost i was listening to said that lifting the limit to 80 will make the police crack down on people going faster. Still good news though  | |

| Part of me says yeah, it's about time, cars are safer etc. Part of me says it's a waste of time, most people do 80mph anyway, I'll still probably potter along at 70mph saving fuel. And part of me says all motorways should have no limits and two lanes, one for lorries and old people, one for everyone else - well, works in Germany! | |

| I'm against it.
I have nothing against speed or the safety of cars built these days, my issue is with the drivers behind them. So we'll be allowed to do 85mph within the limit? So that will see an increased majority exceeding 100mph on a regular basis.. And with the current state of driving standards, tailgating and a general lack judgement where distance and weather/driving conditions are concerned i'd expect to see crash rates rocket. Plus it hardly agrees with our countries tree hugging policies. | |

| People do drive too close in the outside lane thats for sure! But if you do leave a gap when its busy someone will soon fill the hole. | |
