| ask and you shall receive.... today didn't go to plan really, was meant to be doing a few bits to the clio - replacing the centre mount on the exhaust and doing an oil change. In sequence... car too low to get jack under drive car on plank, get jack under jack turns out to be crap and can't lift the car high enough to get axle stands under jack then proceeds to drop car on floor rather than lower it. Luckily it couldnt get it high enough to make it a long drop. Bodgineered the mount good and proper though One new mount, courtesy of k-tec and then we pad with rubber hose, and cable tie the poopoo out of it practically solid, cable ties trimmed NB Mr Norledge you will approve of the cable ties matching throughout. Proper engineering that. So, having failed with the Clio I decided to get on with some more Ovlov, namely the dash. Home comforts first though Steering wheel off Got rid of the rear wiper motor while I was there Cowling, indicator switches off And this is how I left it Looks like the cowling that surrounds the instruments, is seperate to the actual dash, so in theory I could leave that in place and remove everything behind it, so the majority of the crap will be out, but it'll still look reasonably tidy | |

| tbh i worked out within 5 mins it just wasn't going to happen safely I'd say I couldnt hurt myself with Ovlov, but some muppet replaced the windscreen on it and managed to get the drivers' a-pillar with whatever they use to bond the screen in place. Result=one mashed a-pillar plastic | |

| at some point I'm going to invest in an angle grinder & remove the inner skin from inside the doors & then cover over the holes with some carbon or polycarb, something like that.
suspension wise it was played with by Lotus, so to start with I'm going to drive it and see how it goes....

| a bit more done today, firstly - the car now runs again, having got the fuelling ecu back and plugging it all together again. so that's good news, it's just a case of tidying it up, and getting it serviced for its first outing....probably not Combe, I'd prefer more than just 15 minutes at a time to test it out. more home comforts first though unwrapped the spare engine... suspected bottom end fuckage. time will tell I guess. did spot this, seperating the throttle body from the manifold there's a thin gasket between the 2, half of which appears to have been torn off. where it is now is anyone's guess. and this is how I left it today, inlet, alt and various odds and sods removed. made a start on getting the head off, but that will wait for a bit now. | |

| not much at the moment, time is at a premium annoyingly.
have been cutting bits of loom off that I won't need and trying to tidy that up, as there is a lot of loom running to the back of the car.
also traced the engine rattle to something on the aux belt, and since I already have a donor engine fixing that is a case of finding the time and an aux belt.

| I don't think with the state of the shell it'd last more than a year or 2, and it'd need welding for every MOT.
It's worth more in bits. the 106 has a definite price tag, will always need work so will keep me busy enough, and if worst comes to worst I can sell it for 106OC dollarzzzz
