All in all, quite a decent day. Nice and dry and there was no ques getting out onto the track. Only downer for me was my day ending slightly early due to oil leak from the dipstick tube throwing oil onto my exhaust manifold resulting in alot of smoke (and a black flag ). Had no track side quick fix so took to just having passenger rides for the remainder of the day.

Is this the Saxo's first outing since the engine rebuild?

I've replaced the seal on the dipstick itself, the seal in the middle of the dipstick tube and used some instant gasket sealer where the dipstick goes in to the sump. Seems to have cured the leak I had

Did you take anything away from the day, any changes required?

First outing apart from running in. Did about 1000 miles of running in (including cams) since the rebuild.

Looks like the seal could be shot, was quite brittle and we had nothing to bung it up with so for safety (and getting home) i called it a day and took a passenger seat in other car's. Since getting back i haven't had the time to do anything, but likely to go down the same route as you.

Other then the oil, i'd like to adjust the front ride height, i knew the engine would be havier but didn't realise just how low the front end would sit, hasn't done anything to the cars capabilities though.

Looks like a good day, nice mix of cars too. I really want to do Mallory!

Driving to Mallory was the first time i got to use it running above 4k, loved every minute of the journey there!

I'm tempted to get a print out of the first photo, would look great on the wall!

Can't do Donington sadly as it's my final race weekend, and as things stand i'm in with a shot of taking the championship.

What oil issue didn't you have? just a general leak? or was it due to pressure?
