Not alot lol! I'd say around 25 mpg average at a rough guess

ahhh faire one im getting 20-25mpg, its shocking.

think im going to bin it off in the week to the misses as she does about 15miles a way and im at aboout 50 and moving office so going to be 80.

not to bothered tbh but i thought it would be at around 30-35mpg

and i got 320 to a tank then i realised it was KM

Lol! I'd suspect that would be the auto box then, the 1.6's are supposed to be up near the 30-35 mpg region!

meh its life, just feel like if im anywhere near 20mpg why not be driving the mr2 tbh

Yeah, that's why I was debating an S14, the insurance isn't far off either. Might be worth checking for a sticky caliper or something similar, I know mine was ruining my mpg even further.

Struggling to find the coilovers I was going to use for the MK1/NA though, seems they won't be back in stock until September... So I either need to find some cheap MK2/NB top mounts or some cheap MK1 coilies second hand!

Got coilies on order, along with MK2 top mounts. Ordering tyres tomorrow, thinking of CF1's again as I don't want the ultimate in grip with this car, would make it much less fun - it definitely needs a bit more though

Once that little lot's all together, they'll be going on all at once. Hopefully before Japfest, definitely before PPC

It has gone up slightly from these pics, about 15-20 mm in total going by what I wound the coils up by. Given that I was scraping on rumble strips and pinecones before, and steering around slight camber changes in the road, I think that's allowed

But yeah... bit of luck, Rota's on this week!

Looks good but probably the right thing raising it a little...that camber on the back would have made life interesting! Hurry up and get the wheels on now

Did a bit of tidying up this evening, painted up the calipers and the bits of disc that don't get hit by the pads that were rusted up, looks a lot tidier IMO and should look a bit neater behind the new wheels:



Also sorted my bodge exhaust, bit of exhaust paste and everything is solid and rattle free! new sticker too, showing how filthy the car is:

It's not exactly dirty is it, that's pure rubber on the rear bumper! Looking forward to seeing it tonight

They're on! Just waiting on some pics from James. They scrape like crazy so some more arch work is needed (rolling rust is nigh on impossible, even with a massive hammer), thinking maybe grind away the inner lips and a big bar ran between the tyre and arch wall.

If you are gunna cut the lip, I would leave about 2 mm or so to keep some strenght in the panel (prevent it from distorting if someone touchs the side of the car) and remember to put something on the bare metal to prevent it rusting

This looks awesome toying with the idea of buying one just for the summer

Mate, you've got no idea like this lol. Scrapes on everything, can't go sideways yet either, really need to sort the arches. Once they're done it'll be fine, ground clearance isn't too bad now!

Woz, currently yeah, but it'll get sorted, and look like it's supposed to be going sideways rather than some tit out of control... no-one need know the truth

I'm bored at work, to the level that I feel this deserves an update:

Ground out the rear wheel arches last night, or most of them, got interrupted by a very sudden storm (major crap yourself moment!). Scraping from the wheel arches at the back at least has virtually disappeared, it's SO much better! And it goes sideways again, in the wet at least... the new tyres are pretty damn grippy.

Feeling like some discreet sideskirts might be purchased fairly soon, the sills/lower arches don't look too pretty, this would cover it up and effectively colour code the sills too, making it look a bit lower. Would be a great excuse for a massive front splitter and rear diffuser in the future too!

Front arches to be ground out over this weekend, hopefully. I <3 angle grinders, I'm so buying one!

Mark, dunno if you noticed at PPC, but they're proxie 4's. Hugely grippy IMO, step up from the CF1's I was running on the GTi.

Right, so, steering wheel fitted, makes a massive difference. Also got a big pink sticker, because... well, it's an MX-5.
