| Do the mr2 turbos not suffer after a bottom end failure? A fair few of the Jap tub stuff does which is why i ask | |

| It happens but not a common problem. Largely down to how well its being serviced. More common is for the ringlands to fail. | |

| as Adam said its more commonly ringland failure as per my thread thats what went on mine, the turbos have a slight weekness due to the ceramic insides, the celica jap imports are ceramic also, although the celica gt4 uk models have steel shaft etc. this is whats just gone on mine. also bought this new toy, wont be fitted and mapped until after the trackday thou | |

| Useful info about the UK gt4 didn't know that.
What turbo is that and what sort of power you expecting from it?

| T05 16g with blitz downpipe hoping for around about 350+bhp with a smoother graph
the ct20b run out of puff at about 5-6000rpm and this should just pull straight through

| Was talking to my dad about this last night. Have you got cooling ok (oil or water....whichever the 2 uses), just wondering whether the turbos were overheating and breaking? | |

| They are both water and oil cooled on the 2. I guess an oil line could get blocked. | |

| oil way was clear so was water, they werent overheating as didnt get hot enough when they went, fitted the td05 although the braided oil feed was leaking so its had to go off to a hydrolic place to get a new one made up with 2 Banjo bolts rather than the compression fitting that was leaking. | |

| Mapped with the toggle switch done Set it up so when on my High Map a Green Light comes on the dash to make me aware that im not on Eco Map 1 - 340bhp @ 1.3 bar Map 2 - 300bhp @ 0.8 bar Map 3 - 223bhp @ 0.6 bar all can be changed via a toggle switch as i drive Injectors are maxed so that would be next thing, mapper recons i may see 380bhp with larger injectors Has some extra things on map 1 including dumping some fuel on the overrun to keep the pistons cool in engine cooling, also either retard or advance the ignition i cant remember to increase engine breaking, all sorted for track conditions | |

| Update clean the bay up with some powdercoating and painting then resealed the sump as it had a small oil leak! bloody thing wish they just made a gasket instead of having to just gum it up! but that fixed it. then figured out my car idles funny and stuff due to the fuel relay, Mr2 due to the large injectors i imagine. run 9v to the fuel pump on idel then its up to 12v when you put your foot down, which was a minor issue with aftermarket ECU but is all sorted know any maybe even more power. being mapped again atm to suit the constant feed of the power to the fuel pump. bigger injectors and fuel rail still sitting on the side 50/50 if im gunna sell it atm. pics of clean/painted bay before during after | |

| so new exhaust which means i know have 3 in total at the moment, Mongoose, trying to get my dB down so i can use it on track got it for £46 and a 10min drive to collect. listed on ebay as "Mr2 Spares" lol bad description win not got a pic of the exsact one but its this style. been trying to ask people on here what dB they run but noone replies other plans include tidying up some wiring on the car, new fuel pressure regulator and a 3 bar map sensor. also some winter mainteance, new coolant, repair a tiny oil leak (maybe put on smoke machine), repair/new dump valve, check all suspension etc. maybe buy coilovers at some point | |
