Awesome day, tarred a bit by a few breakdowns, near misses and Jez's bump but good none the less.
Learnt a fair bit about the 5 today, main thing being that full throttle + rain + corner = stuck in mud or nearly in a tyre wall! Enjoyed it though, and if anyone has some sideway pics I'll be eternally greatful!
Good to get chatting properly to a few more members on here and meet a couple more

What a great day. Didnt enjoy the 5.15am start but was good to be back on track again.
Was an interesting convoy down that got separated and broken but we all made it, just in the disco's case.
Was really good to meet some new members for the first time. Some of you, for first timers on track were really flying by the end of the day. Specifically Cuj in the teg!
Had an awesome time on track, mr2 didnt break. I did run out of talent at one point. Sorry Jay.....I'll try and avoid spining at the bus stop next time.
Shame the weather wasnt better but still had a great time.
Soooooo when's the next track day....*goes off to check bank balance and track day calenders*

First video done, this was Jez's session in the Rallye. My session vid is a bit longer so going to leave it upload overnight! There's a good bit of rolly Clio in this one
PS. Go to Youtube and watch in 720p for best quality

Steph that pic of sams car is fudging great lol!
A good day as always but the weather was an arse. Wet track was still able to eat my proxies (road tyres) so couldnt continue to drive how l wanted. Couldnt really enjoy the day until l could just about get away with using my cheapo track tyres. Sod all grip in the wet/damp so it was a bit dodgy but makes it easy to do this lol.
Was having good fun doing that until they showed me the "no drifting" board
Jezzer hope you get your car sorted mate sad to see that happen. Jamesy sorry you didnt get a chance to drive the mr2, would have being ok if it didnt start raining again but those tyres are dangerous in the wet. Stu, im guessing we'll be doing something with the mr2 over the weekend so another weekend of who knows what coming up lol

Thank you for organising this guys, we had a FAB day even if the weather conditions at points were the worst ive seen or driven in!
our clios made it through the day without too much bother apart from my alternator wire, which trying to repair in the wind and rain whilst having to remove half the front end was not good times. MASSIVE thank you to the person that happened to have a crimping set, i couldnt have got back out there without you, you sir are a legend!
theres a few vids floating about onboard the blue MK1. il get him to post them up.
and Sam... you actually made my day, huge respect to you for being out there giving it a go even if a little scary to watch LOL

Mark, I didn't make it due to work. Could really do with being able to thrash the car. Would help with my stress!
Looked a good day, albeit wet to start with. Wet days aren't all that bad though. I enjoy Combe more in the wet. Sorry to see a car in the tyre wall. Hope it doesn't take too much to fix or reshell.
clio-girl, my car has only ever had any breakage at Llandow and it was my alternator too. Luckily it was only the charging sensor circuit that fell apart due to the heat from the manifold and not the charging circuit itself. I bought some heat reflective tape after that and covered all the wires which so far has worked a treat. Where's your next day? I'll guess at Bedford but only because I saw one of the videos from another Clio that was at Llandow on YouTube last night that mentioned it in the description.
Sam's passion wagon looks ridiculous in those videos! Good effort though (as in good effort not rolling it!). Made me laugh when I watched them last night
Hopefully those of you that had never been out on track before enjoyed it and we'll see you again
P.s. No one has mentioned cake. Was it crap?

Just thought i would say, thanks for organising the day! Even with the weather, it was a really good day. The Rallye did my proud, especially for my first trackday! It also gave me a chance to see how much of a difference Toyo R888s make around the track! Its given me a little shopping list to help make my car a track beast Thanks again guys!

at least i managed to drive home from Landow this time, my last outing consisted of a melted throttle cable on my standard daily valver. yes it was my own stupidity, my ITB car had destroyed her clutch so didnt want to waste the tracktime, took the daily which hasnt got an exhaust heatshield and it never crossed my mind to fit one at the time
my other half was in the other Clio, he had my camera the bugger, but yes were booked up for Bedford on the 19th March, still more room if any of you guys can make it? hoping to do Brands or Anglesey after that

I did Bedford a few weeks ago (thread here). Really enjoyed it. Very wide track and takes quite a while to get around it! If you've not driven it before, don't think it'll be OK to come off because there's loads of run-off (which there is). There's a massive gully between the track and field and the field has loads of ruts and hidden crap in it
Interested in doing Brands again (assuming it's the Indy circuit?). So when you get more info stick a thread up.

Well seems llandow has started to claim another car. My big end bearings might be on the way out, hopefully I have caught them earlier enough to avoid a Norledge style mr2 implosion.
Just need to sort out getting it checked over. Hopefully a full rebuild wont be needed. Proper rebuild if it does though

Rich just bare in mind as soon as bearings start tapping, every mile you do risks a score on the crank which means a regrind.
80% chance it'll need a polish atm.

Awesome day out just a shame about the weather and my poor proxies!
Was really pleased with the mr2, don't think its faster than the gti threw the little intricate areas of the track but I didn't buy it for that I brought it to put a smile on my face and it deffinatly did that.

To whoever commented about our brake lights, the 3rd centre brake light is wired as a rain light as per racing regs. we dont have/need sidelights just a high intensity rear light for wet weather.
