So a few things done.
Charge cooler was loosing coolant from the cap so replaced it with a Blitz one to match the engine coolant cap. Also fixed the problem.
After parking next to my dads car it gave me the idea to spray the lower grill under the rear bumper. Silverish rather than red.
Then l popped one of the standard subs behind the seats. No surprize really im not using the toyota amp and had them turned up by using the head unit through a bose amp. So replaced them both with the below. Only 5.25in and actually hi-fi subs but they fit and do the job perfectly.
Wheels turned up so got busy with the painted and ordered a new set of rubber. Proxie T1R's as usal.
Then it was time for the strips that run along the bottom of the glass. After 18years a bit of paint satin black worked a treat.
One of the biggest faults with the drive of my car had always being the notchy gear change. Caused by the quick shift. They are poopoo on mr2's! So finally got round to replacing it with the standard shifter.
What a difference! Its like the box has being rebuilt!!
That'll do for now
Next jobs are to remove the A/C pump as l no longer have an A/C rad since the charge cooler rad was fitted. Replace or tighen the altenator belt.

Really like the wheels, and the silver rear grill makes a hell of a difference.

Yeh the wheels are fine now. That grinding we did at mallory stopped the rub and l got them re-balanced. Asked if they could get them perfect seeing as the cars so sensitive to balancing. Rather than "that'll be ok" lol.

Yeh that sounds about right l know its a parking permit of some sort. Think its basically the Japanese version of a tax disc. You must have one. I'm going to Google Saitama
Cheers mate!

So just north of Tokyo then. It's nice to finally find out
Saitama Prefecture is Tokyo's neighbor to the north. Much of southeastern Saitama, including the prefectural capital of Saitama City, are considered suburbs of Tokyo, while its western parts are mostly rural and mountainous and include parts of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park.

Thought id test out my new camera mount today. Headrest frame with mount & camera attached. Worked well so just need to buy a decent video camera now. Although maybe not so well when passengers are fitted
vs Micra Turbo - had me worried when l missed 4th gear!
vs MR2 Turbo - close one but managed to hold him off.
vs Prelude
Funny thing is l wasnt even going today. Was going to an airshow but the weather wasnt looking great. So changed my mind and went Santa Pod instead lol

It was a good day
I believe in Japan they put the mr2 in the 4wd class because it has good traction off the line. I certainly used it to my advantage yesterday!
If l get the launch right im able to full throttle it in 1st once im off the clutch and it'll stick. However its a fine line between wheel spin and bogging down. Traction in second is never a problem its 100% throttle regardless.
Looking forward to the next one already!! Bet my clutch aint

Rivited to the sub box lid behind the passenger seat.
Luckily the glass roof panel still fits lol
Then bought some gauges. Oil pressure, oil, water & exhaust gas temps. Also came with a boost gauge so l now have 2. Ill probably swap it for a volt gauge at some point.
Gauges store peak readings and you can set warnings which cause the gauges to flash red and beep incase you fail to notice. Only down side is ive lost my heater vents which ill miss on colder days with the roof off lol.

Looking good, Have you never thought of a scan gauge though or has your car not got 16pin obd being older & jap? Adam has got one on his focus rs & its pretty handy plugs in to the obd port & sits on the dash giving you readings also can erase fault code memory to.

Being keeping an eye out for ages trying to find a Cusco brake stopper. Got bored of waiting so ordered from Japan. At the cost of £82 Turned up, dont bloody fit. Well its the only one listed for the MR2 so i made it fit!
This is what it should look like!
I got this!
So some cutting was required.
Perfect fit eh. But its solid and dont move a mm lol.
Ive recently read a couple of threads about running no bov (dump valve). Just in general not specific to the MR2. Anyway after hearing the noise off stu's pissrat running no bov ive spent hours reading into it. My decision was to block the bov.
Very easy, cut the end off a broom and wrap it in tape.
Connected the hose to hide.
Benefits are a better throttle response on gear change because the charge cooler is still full of air. Same if you have an intercooler. Which is the main reason race cars, wrc and drift cars dont use bov's. And turbo flutter
Couple of vids. Sorry about the odd noises. Just caused by vibrations l think.
Slow drive, just creating boost. Gives more chatter + less exhaust noise.
Flat out. Gives a wooosh then chatter.

Nurburgring, Karussell
That is without doubt my favorite picture EVER taken of my car!
What an AWESOME trip (thanks James) the Nurgburgring is heaven. No other word for it!! I feel like im wasting my life sat here rather than driving it!
This was my final lap recorded by rich. Still didnt really know where l was going lol but the Z4 you'll see was a good guide. I felt comfortable matching his speed so my theory was he he makes this corner so can l...... well im still here lol.
Just an AMAZING track with the cars to match! Never seen so many high performance & track focused cars! Its even greater seeing them get used! Endless 911's, M series BMWs and plenty of others. Corvette’s, Ferrari etc
