| Got a dilemma with tyres. I have spare set of 17" wheels for trackdays but current tyres are crappy (1x wanli worn on edges, 1x champion with cut in side, 1x wanli with 7mm tread and 1x event with 2mm tread).
In an ideal world I'd want r888s or at least decent tyres but can't really justify cost especially when new normal tyres will get ruined in one day at llandow (and misses would go mental with our first born on the way!)!
So I'm thinking of part worns but how much tread do you think I'd need as a min and should I cross off punctured repaired tyres?

| Why 17's??
15's will fit on the lude??
Cheaper, and a bigger range of choice!

| Alot will depend on how soft/hard the tire is. For an example l did 15mins at mallory on decent toyo proxes and after the 15mins l was just above the minimum tread marker on the rears. My budgets which are a much harder compound lasted a full day at mallory and still have plenty of life. | |

| These 17's turned up at a good price. Did consider 15's but got to be careful with brakes due to 282mm on front.
A guy is selling some integra wheels with r888s but said not road legal so don't know how long they'll last on track.
Will budgets send me into rude walls then or do you think they'll be ok for an amateur like me?

| Not sure if 2mm will last long on track?
Would having budgets on back and good tyres up front cause any issues apart from the back not being too grippy :$

| I plan on running budgets on the way there, the same tyres on track then drive them home. But then I also have no power at all. | |

| Those Parada's are so cheap compared to R888's. I was going to buy R888's for mine but might give the parada's a try. They road legal? | |

| The lude is 4 stud but what are the tyres?
Did look at a cheap new tyres but they'll get destroyed in a day so thought part worns would be cheaper alternative!

| New tyres should last you more than a day, again all dependant on compound etc... BTW i can you 4 Paradas in 205 40 17 for £260 and can bring them to the meet... Save you the postage | |

| I looked at couple sets of road tyres after a day at llandow and the tyres were screwed. Had quite a bit of tread left but all the tread blocks were leaning to the left as llandow is mostly right turns and seems particularly hard on tyres. Decisions, decisions! | |
