Right well as I am collecting a car tomorrow figured Id start a thread.

All will be revealed tomorrow evening, provided I havent crashed it on the way home, or been shot/knifed or something in Brum.

Car safely home, needs some air in one tyre, the dials lights sorting out, the whine locating and stopping and some brake fluid to sort the abs.

Other than that its all sweet. Enjoying it bar having very little brakes and not being able to see how quick I was driving on the way home.

Pictures will be up tomorrow when I can be bothered to take some.

it was suprisingly nice mate for the money little things here and there but for the price was very nice, and the tax dodger system on the way back was an interesting formation from the B4T red arrows

Other thing I noticed on way home from Stu's was the idle went funny, varying up and down a few hundred rpm. Stopped after and not done it since either.

It was a great buy mate, for that price you will struggle to get a better one.

Have you had the abs working then? It might not have it.

Get some decent oil in and dont rag it from cold like stu does lol. You got yourself a decent motor today

Nah the brakes are grinding on the front, and possibly sticking on the front right. Same one as the low tyre. unable to pump it up as the cap was welded on it seemed. Going to tax it, buy some brake fluid and check it all over after work tomorrow.

How many do we need for the red arrows formation?

Hey guys - over from imoc
Nice car, looks like a rev2, worth giving it a nice service (dizzy, rotor, ingition leads, fluids, etc). Unfrotunately Rev1/2 has a paper head gasket so worth checking that out also.

Sticking brakes are the plague of the MR2 that's unresolved in all later revisions. usually they just need a good clean. In worst case scenarios reconditioned calipers are available. TCBparts(.co.uk) has a awesome selection of parts, Trevor in there is a awesome bloke who can sort you out with anything.
Speedo on those will be mechanical - there is a cable coming off the gearbox which probably seized.
After doing the little niggles, best upgrades are suspension (uprated ARB's, polybushes, but firstly droplinks - those will cause knocking on little bumps and are cheap to replace).
On an NA can't do much in the power dept really, apart from a exhaust and a intake, but that won't yield much, apart from the nicer noise!
I love my MR2 (similar to Adam86's actually, just a moonroof not tbar) - best 1 grand ever spent! Hope you enjoy it!

The speedo works just not lighting up with the lights, made the drive home fun. Guessed at 50 and stuck to it.

Yeah its going to get serviced, and check over everything when I can. Then after christmas I will do a few bits to it just to make it nice.

It is designed to be a daily, I am after something else for track when I can afford it.

As per discussion, I'm feeling the black knob. It'll hide any dirt so you won't have to polish your knob every 5 minutes.

rich neither, get a TRD knob or something similar as the knob you mentioned with lengthen the throw quite abit, the gash knob that come on mine was horrible to drive with.
